In interview 4, Joe Foote describes a day in the life as Carl Albert's staff, Albert's personality and habits are the main topic. As a young graduate from the University of Oklahoma, Joe Foote served as the Press Secretary for Carl Albert from 1972-1976.  Foote’s narrative is an account of a press tour that Carl Albert held through the towns of Oklahoma in January 1974 to try to counter some of the concerns of the American people during the Watergate investigation. Foote describes Albert’s personality and interpersonal abilities that made him a successful politician and a memorable employer.
